You need a list. That’s a given. It’s the one thing above all else that matters most. After it’s built, it’s yours to use any time you want. Just push a button and print money – literally.

Your Opt-in Page – The squeeze page is the first thing your visitor is going to see. This page is the one that asks them for their email. So, obviously it has to be well designed. It’s also got to be free from distractions. And have a clear call to action.
Failure to include a great “call to action” will result in failure. This “close” tells your visitors what you want them to do. And if you don’t include it, they won’t opt in. It’s strange, but if you don’t tell people what to do, they won’t do it.
You can take your opt-in page to the next level if you add a compelling video to the page. You only have a few second to get your visitors attention – video helps! Plus it give you a chance to tell them to opt in multiple times. And you can have the video just tell them to fill in your form after it’s done playing.
If you don’t know how to make video, don’t worry. You can hire freelancers to do this for you for a few hundred dollars. There are also list building systems that give you squeeze page templates.
The Bribe – The next thing you need is an incentive to subscribe to your list. People won’t give you their email for nothing. Nobody likes spam, so most people guard their email closely. So you have to give them a good reason to do it.
The only way to make this work is to provide real value. Then it becomes something people want to get from you. And can benefit from. Here’s some examples:

- Some useful software
- Videos
- An email series
Basically, you just need some content. Something that’s useful and helpful to your visitors. It goes without saying it must be free. But to get the email, it’s got to be a good offer.
Once again, don’t worry if you don’t know how to create the freebie. You can just pay someone else to make it for you. You just pick the topic and they create the training. A 5-part email series is a good freebie. You can have ghost writers create emails for under $25 an email. So, a great premium will cost you around $100 – $150.
Or again, you can find complete list building packages for sale online that include an email series. There are two important things about the email series. First, it must provide value to your subscribers. And it’s nice if it earns you some money, too. 
One very easy way to make some money from your list is with affiliate marketing. Affiliate products are easy because you don’t have to do anything at all. And it enables you to generate cash right away from your new list.
The Opt-in Success Page – The last bit is the thank you page. After subscribing to your list, your visitor is redirected to this page. It’s nice to give them some great content right away. This helps them feel they’ve made the right decision giving you their email. It also helps to build the relationship. It also makes them more likely to open your emails.
You can use a “done for you” email marketing system. Or you can go the DIY route. You can either write the content pages on your own. Or have someone ghost write for you.
